Service Request Form

Please read!

  • Cost: Free!

  • Amount of laundry accepted:
    • For individual clients: A single service request must be the equivalent of 4 contractor-sized garbage bags or less. Limit 1 request per week.

    • For partner organizations: Service request limits are flexible.

  • We ACCEPT:

    • Clothing

    • Blankets

    • Towels

    • Sheets

  • We DO NOT ACCEPT:

    • Items soiled with feces, blood, or solid material, nor any wet or dripping items*.

      • *Exceptions are made for infant/toddler clothing, bedding, and reusable diapers as long as all solid material has been disposed of before sending the load over. Please keep these items isolated in their own load/bag.

    • Shoes

    • Items that cannot go into the washer and dryer (i.e., wool sweaters, lay flat, hang dry, dry clean only, or hand wash only).

  • YOU AGREE TO:

    • Empty all pockets before placing laundry in bags. KLA is not responsible for any damage or loss associated with items left in pockets.

    • Presort bulky blankets and bedding into a separate bag.

    • Presort your laundry into separate bags of lights, darks, colors, and/or delicates if you do not want them all washed together. We will not separate your mixed laundry for you.

    • Understand that we DO NOT provide bleach, stain treatment, or liquid fabric softener.

    • If a specific brand of detergent is required, such as Dreft, to send that detergent with your laundry.

    • Communicate only via Signal Messaging App or text.

      • Our preferred method is Signal, but we can accommodate texting if you do not have access to the Signal Messaging App.

    • Keep an eye on your phones starting at the time the laundry pickup window begins.

      • We prefer contactless pick up and drop off for everyone’s safety, but are willing to accommodate face-to-face interactions if you do not have access to a Safe Drop location.

    • Notify us if you need a pet-free location to wash your items due to medical needs.

      • We will try our best to accommodate based on volunteer capability and will notify you if we are/are not able to fulfill the request.

How It Works

  1. After you submit your request, we will reach out to you via text or Signal message within a few days to schedule pick up.

  2. On your assigned laundry day, place your laundry in a bag that can be closed or tied shut (strong trash bags are okay).

  3. A vetted volunteer driver will pick up your laundry during the pickup window: from the contact-less location or in-person, depending on your request.

  4. Your driver will label your bag with a nickname and your address so it can be returned correctly.

  5. The driver will message you on Signal/text with their name, car, and what they’re wearing so you know who to look for at pickup and drop-off.

  6. Another group of volunteers will wash, dry, and fold your laundry. When possible, laundry submitted in trash bags will be returned in reusable cloth bags.

  7. Your clean laundry will be returned during the drop-off window. We will send a message when we arrive (in-person hand off) or when the bags have been dropped (contactless).

  8. You will keep the bag tags with your address.

Thank you for your patience!
