ABOUT
Kaposia Laundry Aid (KLA) is a volunteer-run, direct mutual aid group that provides laundry assistance to neighbors in need. We serve the communities of West St. Paul, South St. Paul, Mendota Heights, and Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota.
We began as a small circle of neighbors who wanted to create access to an essential service that isn’t always available to everyone in our home region. We were fueled into action in the wake of events that began in earnest in January 2026, which terrified many of our neighbors—especially those who are most vulnerable— and caused people to lose their sense of safety in leaving their homes for any reason. We formed Kaposia Laundry Aid with safety, dignity, and lasting impact at the forefront. Our approach centers equity, community trust, and resilience, so we can adapt to whatever comes next. We believe in basic human rights beyond what is legally protected. As Margaret Mead said, "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."
If you or someone you know needs laundry assistance, we’re here to help.
We believe in the power of collaboration and shared solutions. If you are part of another mutual aid group and would like to partner to expand support and reach, please email KaposiaLaundryAid@proton.me.

KLA Service Guidelines and Expectations
ā
We are not a laundromat or a business. Kaposia Laundry Aid is a volunteer group that launders items for neighbors in need, either in our volunteers’ homes or at local laundromats. Typical turnaround is approximately 5 days after we pick up your laundry, and you will be notified promptly about when to expect your clean items.
There is no formal limit on the number of loads; however, please provide your best estimate of how many loads a standard home washing machine and dryer would require to clean all items. We can accommodate large items such as blankets, but they may arrive on a separate date than clothes laundry due to the availability of large-scale machines..
We expect mutual respect and safety in all interactions; this is a judgment-free zone.
ā
If you are a partner organization, we are here to support and collaborate. We believe in the power of small aid groups, non-profits, and social organizations coming together to support the community needs. We will work together to determine best practices for pick up and delivery of your client’s laundry. You are empowered to fill out the client intake form if you have laundry needs, or reach out via email to begin the partnership.
ā
Turnaround times may vary because we operate based on volunteer capacity. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to help as many neighbors as possible.
