Monetary Donations

We are unable to accept cash donations, but gladly accept Visa or Mastercard e-gift cards.  When possible, e-gift cards will be used to purchase supplies from local small businesses as opposed to major retailers. For this reason, please refrain from sending business-specific gift cards (i.e. Target, Amazon, etc.).

If you have sewing skills and would like to make reusable cloth laundry bags from upcycled fabrics (i.e. old but clean and unstained bedsheets, draperies, etc.), we'd love your help!

 

Many of our clients use single-use trash bags to contain loads for transport. In an effort to be more eco-friendly, we also make and supply washable reusable cloth laundry bags to clients if they so desire. By using upcycled linens we can reduce textiles and single-use plastics that would otherwise be sent to landfill.

Cloth Laundry Bag Requirements

• All materials used must be machine washable! Bags will be washed right along with the laundry we receive inside of them.​​

• Clean, unstained, sturdy, tightly-woven, non-stretchy fabrics only.​

• Strong, finished seams to prevent fraying. Serged or reinforced sewn seams (French, faux French, bias bound, flat-felled for examples) will hold up better to wear and tear.

• Drawstring closure.

  • String can be made out of bias tape, cording, strong cloth ribbons.

• Sizing: In general, bags should be no smaller than a large tote bag, and no larger than a contractor garbage bag.​

• This tutorial on how to construct a simple drawstring bag is a great place to start. You are not required to make this exact style, as long as whatever style you choose meets the requirements listed above.​​​
